Write for NCACPA’s Blog or Interim Report (IR) Magazine

< return to list
Starts: 12-08-2020
Location: Online Opportunity

We are looking for contributors to provide content for our blog and quarterly magazine Interim Report. Please keep in mind that you do not have to be an experienced writer to contribute!

In addition to your article, you will be asked to provide:

  • A professional headshot
  • Brief biography (between 2 to 3 sentences)
  • Contact information, if any, you want published (e.g. email, website, LinkedIn, etc.)

If you’re interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact NCACPA Content Specialist Carly Rutledge for more information.

Writing for Interim Report

  • Consider timing. When writing for Interim Report, please keep in mind the timeliness of the subject matter as the magazine issue you write for may take a couple months to publish after submission (e.g. Guidance surrounding a new update in March may lose relevance by June when the magazine is printed).

  • There is no word count. Content included in Interim Report ranges from spotlights and columns to multi-page articles, and therefore there are no set parameters surrounding length. We’d rather you focus on providing relevant and interesting content than trying to stay within the lines.

  • Be creative! New content ideas are welcomed and encouraged! Whether your contribution is a deep dive into an accounting standard or shows the wild side of a CPA (think celebrating the end of busy season by swimming with sharks or running a marathon) we want to read your ideas.

  • Photos and videos are welcomed to accompany your article.

Writing for NCACPA’s blog or news page

  • Quick turnaround. We recommend submitting time-sensitive articles as blog or news posts as they can be published much quicker than content included in IR. We ask that you allow about a week for scheduling.

  • Word count. Our blog posts typically range from 100 to 800 words.

  • Photos and videos are welcomed to accompany your article.

Please ignore the points accompanying volunteer opportunities. This is a default setting and does not affect your membership or volunteer status.
